This Could Only Happen To One With The Bad Gag Reflex!

So today I was babysitting my brothers and sisters while my parents where out Christmas shopping, and two of my siblings were wrestling in the hallway. I hear my 11 year old brother start to scream. Apparently he had gotten punched in the nose by my 7 year old little sister, causing a REALLY bad nose bleed. He runs into the kitchen (instead of the bathroom, which he was right next to) leaving a trail of blood on our carpet and kitchen floor. I run into the kitchen to see how bad it is. Now if you know me well, you would know that I have a horrible gag reflex and I hate blood! THERE WAS BLOOD EVERYWHERE!!! I try to hold it together, but then it got on my hand, and I couldn't keep it together any longer. I'm standing there dry heaving and he's over the sink laughing at my dry heaving, while trying to control his bloody nose. There were puddles of blood on the counter and all over the floor. I grab the paper towels and Windex (while still dry heaving like crazy), and tried to clean it up. I was starting to get a hold of myself, until I looked at my brother and he had blood all over himself, and the dry heaving got worse! We were quit a sight to be seen! Finally I get the kitchen all cleaned up, and his bloody nose had stopped. So now it was time to clean the hallway. I start cleaning the carpet (still can't stop dry heaving) and my brother went down stairs to get my other brother, and they come up to watch me dry heave!! So not only am I cleaning his bloody nose mess, but he goes and get's my brother to laugh at me! I sooooo better get an extra Christmas present for that!

Volleyball withdrawals:(

Well volleyball season has come and gone, which is bitter sweet for me. I'm glad that there will be no more morning practices for me anymore, 4:30 is not a good wake up time for me! Though I will miss playing my favorite sport every Monday and Thursday. When I first started out, I don't know how I made the team! I was so nervous during tryouts, and I kept messing up BADLY! But apparently the coach saw past the jitters, and knew I had a lot to offer. Needless to say I made the team, and man was I shocked.
After a few weeks of practice, I improved big time. I had my serve down and was ready to go. Before we knew it, it was the day of our first game. I can't tell you how nervous I was! This was my first time playing against another school and I was so scared! It seems silly now, but at the time it was anything but silly. As the bell rang at the end of the day, I slowly made my way over to the locker rooms to change into my uniform. I knew the other team would be arriving soon, so I said a quick prayer and made my way to the gym. We set up the nets and started the warm up. "A" team was to play first, then "B" team after. Since I was on the "B" team, we sat on the bleachers and watched the "A" team play. Eventually It was our turn. In our team huddle coach showed us the line up and wished us good  luck. I wasn't in the first game, but I was in the second. After winning the first game, it was time for the second. I made my way to the position I would be playing for that rotation. I quickly said a prayer again, and was ready to go. The game was going great! Slowly the butterflies in my stomach stated to settle down. That is, until it was my turn to serve and all eyes were on me. My hands were shaking and I could hardly walk. The ball was tossed to me, and the referee blew the whistle. I glanced over to my coach in hopes to get one last good luck. She smiled at me and I knew she could see my hands shake. I took a deep breath and served the ball. I GOT IT IN! I couldn't believe it! I looked over at my coach and she practicality jumped out of her seat. Then I served again, and again, and again, getting them all in. At the beginning of the season I could hardly get my serves over, let alone in, but here I was getting a 100% on my first game. We had a great 2nd and 3rd game and won the match. At the end of the game the coach came up to me and told me how amazing my serves where that night, and how she couldn't believe how I got my them in, with how much my hands where shaking. The season continued and our team did amazing! We where undefeated for the first 3 or 4 games. And by the end of the season I was serving over hand!
After one of our last games, we voted on the girls who should win the end of the season awards. The three awards included MVP, Most Inspirational, and Most Improved. At the end of the season party, the awards where given out. I won the Most Improved award. I was so proud of myself! I really do think I improved the most. I started out the season not all that great, but by the end I was ten times better than how I started! It just shows how hard work and a little faith can really go a long way.
I'll definitely miss it, but I'm ready to start something new.
